Going from real time sex work to phone work [Aug. 3rd, 2008|08:15 pm]
I am considering supplementing my income by doing phone sex work.  I know, not great cash, but I can stay at home and do other stuff, and I am told I am good at it.  I have looked at NiteFlirts and a few other small brokers, but am just feeling it out right now.  There are also the tax issues to think about.  When I had my home office while working for a 'civilian' company,  I had to save my receipts for rent (one of the two bedrooms was my office), utilities (electric, heat, phone, cable internet), etc as all of these things are partially deductible on the US's impossibly idiotic tax returns.  Also, doing other side work as a freelance person I have to file a 1099 in addition to my W4, blah blah blah...

For any of you who may be phone sex workers, any tips?

It Rocks!

I'm a pso on Niteflirt, and I work about eh, 5 hours 5 days a week. Last month I banked about 3 grand. All while sitting in the privacy of my own home and I am definitely satisfied these days! To bank 3 grand which is after marketing expenses and phone bills is pretty dern good in this economy. I can't wait til the economy gets better! lmao

Re: It Rocks!

I'm working for Universal Telecommunications, and I really like it. Here's their pay scale and schedule:

Pay Scale, based on average hold time:

8.59 minutes or below = $7.00 per hour
9.00 to 9.59 minutes = $8.00 per hour
10.00 to 10.59 minutes = $9.00 per hour
11.00 to 13.59 minutes = $10.00 per hour
14.00 to 15.59 minutes = $12.00 per hour
16.00 to 17.59 minutes = $14.00 per hour
18.00 to 19.59 minutes = $16.00 per hour
20.00 or higher minutes = $18.00 per hour

Hold time is how long you keep a cient on the phone, and they throw out any call under a minute, so those don't count against you. Then they average out you hold time according to how many hours you were logged in and set your pay by that. Also, you get paid by the hour whether you have 20 calls or 2.

The pay period, which ends every other Sunday. Tomorrow is the end of this one.) And the paychecks are mailed out every other Wednesday. (The next one goes out on the 18th of this month.)

I'm curious: is there a minimum number of hours that you need to put in each week, with Universal? Also, do you get a lot of calls? (Thx)
